We've been fans of Wu Wei Din for a couple of years now. This review is as of today as it's the first time we've visited the new location. It's in the former On The Border, but they've spent the money on updating the building in a pretty nice manner. It's Asian-inspired of course, but I would say it's way more tastefully done that usual. They've added a "see-in kitchen" and full service bar that's new for them over the old location. The food itself is still amazing. Of course, the soup dumplings are on point and go quickly. Our 2nd go-to is the Dan Dan noodles. From there, we explore a little bit with each visit. Today we tried the Braised Beef soup, but made the error of getting it "spicy" instead of regular. Now, we like spicy, but it would have been better for us to get the regular and control the spiciness at the table by adding chili oil instead. The beef itself was still perfectly tender and the soup was good, just a bit too much of the spicy "numbing" spice for our taste. Again, our fault, not theirs, as we were given a choice when we ordered. The other item we got today was the spicy won ton pork dumplings. Holy smokes they were great. Also, we just got back from Vegas, and ate at Din Tai Fung for a direct comparison. DTF is also great, and it's a very similar concept. For my money, Wu Wei Din is better, and of course, somewhat less expensive. A quick note on the service: At the previous location, the service was never all that great. It was fine, because it was efficient, if not exactly friendly. But today's visit, even though it looked like the same exact staff, was much more friendly. Maybe they are making more of an effort, or it's just the new location, but it was a welcomed change from the prior location.

Came here at the recommendation of many. This formerly was an On The Border and they remodeled it slightly. But the restaurant was clean, service was very attentive. Ordered egg rolls, kimchi and pork potstickers, fried chicken fried rice, sesame chicken and shrimp/pork soup dumplings. Everything tasted great and the food was actually served rather quickly. Spent about $72 with a fountain drink and trip. Will definitely be returning!

While visiting my sister in Dallas, we decided to check out this place as it's supposedly been referred to as a Din Tai Fung dupe online. Although I've never had DTF, this was really good and I definitely recommend it. Orange chicken - amazing, 10/10. I didn't originally order this but the table next to us had it and it looked really good and we got it and did not regret it. Mongolian beef - 6/10. Some pieces were chewy and there was barely any beef overall. Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) - 8/10. Juicy and tasty. Cucumber salad - 8/10. Good flavor and crisp. String beans - 8/10. Not the best I've had but definitely a great version. Chili oil wontons - 7/10. The wontons were good but the sauce was too much on the sour side. Noodles in spicy sauce - 6/10. The noodles were alright but again, the spicy sauce was lacking for me. Wish it was more savory and spicy than sour. Overall the food was pretty good. If I'm in the area, I would go back.

Pan Fried Pork Buns, Chicken Udon Noodles The pork buns were fantastic! Yummy and steamy and carried well in the delivery. But small and relatively on the pricey side, but worth it imo to have it done right. The chicken udon noodles were sort of bland. They perked up a bit after I mixed in my dad's homemade chili oil though!

We've heard a ton of great things about Wu Wei Din, and it's safe to say that our expectations were met - everything we ate here was delicious. Especially the pork chop fried rice! Absolutely better than the one from Din Tai Fung, everything was so flavorful and came out incredibly fast. The menu is HUGE so it'll take a few visits to try more amazing food!

Went here on date night. It was Sunday and we didn't have to wait at all. Don't bother with signing in for a table they didn't use it. You just go to host like normal. They were very busy with to go orders at the front which made it crowded. We ordered traditional bao soup dumplings, the 3 colors variety of dumplings and crab rangoons. The bao and dumplings I would give a solid 7 out of 10. The creasing on the dumplings was great which shows skills. They were beautiful. Very thin though so they fell apart picking them up so that was disappointing. The rangoons were Uber sweet and not my thing. Id give them a 2 out of 10. Overall I would go back but would try different things next time.

Not sure why they opened another location six minutes away on the same street but decided to give this new location a try! Right off the bat this location is a lot bigger and has the same ambiance as their Lewisville location. I think the two locations off 15th street have very different vibes, this one is more fancy looking whereas the other location is more of a casual vibe. The food was pretty consistent with the other locations. I tried their new beef pancake and it was great - the cucumber adds a nice crunch to it. Service here was great, we were in and out of the restaurant within an hour and the food came out hot every time. Definitely recommend stopping by if you haven't yet!
